SUBMITTING AN INTERDISCIPLINARY UNIT
Linked here is our interdisciplinary
unit template, with descriptions of each area available by
clicking on the titles. This
template is two-layered: there is
an overview template for the whole unit, then the standard unit/lesson template
for any of the subject areas. To
save this template so you can enter your unit into it, follow the instructions
below.
For PCs
- From
the interdisciplinary
template, open the “File” menu and choose “Save As”
to save a copy of the template to your desktop.
- Close
the original window.
- Right
click on the file icon you have just created on the desktop.
Select “Edit” – this brings up the template in an html editor,
such as FrontPage.
- Type
your information into the blank boxes in the table.
In the subject area section, each teacher will need to follow
directions to submit information about his/her unit.
To create links, use the features in your editor program.
- Save
the file to a disk or your hard drive.
Use the unit title as the file name.
- When
complete, e-mail as an attachment to: editors@dsisd.k12.mi.us
For Macs
- From
the blank template page, open the “File” menu and choose “Save As.”
In the “Save As” box, indicate that the document is a web page
and the format or page source is html.
(The prompts will vary, depending on your computer.)
Save the blank template on your desktop as newtemplate.html
- Close
the original window.
- Open
an html editor, such as Composer, Dreamweaver, or FrontPage to a blank new
document. Click and drag the
newtemplate.html icon onto the blank new page.
- Type
your information into the boxes, then save the completed unit or lesson,
using its title as the name. E-mail
this as an attachment to: editors@dsisd.k12.mi.us
If you computer does not have an html editor, print the
blank template and use it as a guide to type your unit or lesson as a Microsoft
document. When finished, e-mail as
an attachment to: editors@dsisd.k12.mi.us
