SUBMITTING A UNIT OR A LESSON

Linked here is our unit/lesson template, with descriptions of each area available by clicking on the titles.  To save this template so you can enter your unit or lesson into it, follow the instructions below.

For PCs

  1. From the blank template page, open the “File” menu and choose "Edit in FrontPage" if available, then go to Step 4.  If not available, go to File, then “Save As” to save a copy of the template to your desktop.
  2. Close the original window.
  3. On the desktop, there may be two new icons - a folder icon and a file icon.  Try the file icon first.  Right click on it and select “Edit” – this brings up the template in an html editor, such as FrontPage.
  4. Type your information into the blank boxes in the table.  To create links, use the features in your editor program.
  5. Save the file to your desktop, using the unit/lesson title as the file name.
  6. When complete, e-mail as an attachment to:  editors@dsisd.k12.mi.us

For Macs

  1. From the blank template page, open the “File” menu and choose “Save As.”  In the “Save As” box, indicate that the document is a web page and the format or page source is html.  (The prompts will vary, depending on your computer.)  Save the blank template on your desktop as newtemplate.html
  2.  Close the original window.
  3. Open an html editor, such as Composer, Dreamweaver, or FrontPage to a blank new document.  Click and drag the newtemplate.html icon onto the blank new page.
  4. Type your information into the boxes, then save the completed unit or lesson, using its title as the name.   E-mail this as an attachment to: editors@dsisd.k12.mi.us
  5. If your computer does not have an html editor, print the blank template and use it as a guide to type your unit or lesson as a Microsoft document.  When finished, e-mail as an attachment to: editors@dsisd.k12.mi.us
